Strategic Plan

To ensure the continued success CACAARR has engendered over the course of its existence, the strategic plan will guide the committee, made up of 15 voting members including two student reps, in collaboration with S&T staff, alumni and corporate partnerships, to deliver goals set for improving the S&T educational opportunities of current African-American students and prospective students.  The Strategic Plan complements the Missouri S&T overall Strategic Plan and CACAARR is proud to serve as a direct extension of the University to contribute to the overall achievement of these goals.

The Strategic Plan is made up of 3 Strategic Objectives (regarding recruitment/retention, fundraising and legislative/public relations) and 13 directives. Where appropriate, tangible target measures of success are proposed. These plans will be executed through the leadership and actions of each CACAARR member and its associated constituents during the biannual meetings normally held in the months of February and October, during subcommittee meetings, and other supporting activities and efforts to advance the committee’s objectives.

  • Enrich the African-American student experience and increase enrollment
  • Expand and elevate reputation and relationship with public, legislative and alumni
  • Identify opportunities and secure resources from internal and external constituencies supportive of African-American students
