The Ravens Group Challenge Fund
Lt. Gen. Joe N. BallardMS EMgt'72
"The thing we found is that in the minority community there are some very bright and deserving students, but they just don't have the wherewithal to come to school like S&T, " Ballard says. "S&T has done a tremendous job to outreach and I wanted to do anything I could to help the University."
Take advantage of a great opportunity and create your own endowed scholarship for S&T african-american students!
Make a difference in a student's life and help S&T continue to graduate top notch African-American engineers and scientists!
When you invest $11,000 at Missouri S&T to create an endowed scholarship for African-American students, $5,000 will be added to your fund from matching monies given by Lt. General (Ret) Joe Ballard and his wife Tessie from The Ravens Group Inc. generated to attract minority students for STEM programs.
Your fund will be invested by the University of Missouri system, which has one of the best university investment records in the country. Each year, 5% of the value of your endowed fund will be distributed to award a scholarship in your name for an African-American student attending S&T.
You control the name of your scholarship. You will receive an annual report on your fund and on your student. And have an opportunity to become a member of the Order of the Golden Shillelagh (OSG.)
